  ACCESSING GOD’S WAYS BY STUDYING HIS WORD   March 26, 2023   •     Seeds of Destiny SCRIPTURE: Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. 1Timothy 4:13 THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The habitual study of the Word is an attribute of greatness. It has been established that the Word of God is the builder of life and destiny. Your destiny is not in view when the Word is out of place in your life. To neglect the Word is to forfeit your destiny. This means, the diligent study of the Word is necessary for the fulfilment of destiny (2 Timothy 2:15, John 5:39). Now, what does it mean to study the Word of God? To study the Word of God is to access the ways, thoughts, principles and precepts of God from His Book in order to walk better with Him on earth. When you study God’s Word, you are trying to know what He likes, how He thinks, what His principles are, what you are allowed to do, what you are forbidden from doing, etc. This is what studying the Wor...

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 John 2:1-29, Daniel 1-2

MESSAGE:

There is no doubt that technology is good. I remember the year 2020 when there was a global pandemic lockdown – Church services were not held in physical venues; for several months, we held services in my home while it were recorded and aired, as physical gatherings were not allowed. Technology was instrumental to this. However, I, as well as many others, heaved a sigh of relief when we could gather after the pandemic because the experience is not the same. There is this power in physically gathering, that watching or connecting to the service online cannot give you.

When you connect to the service from the comfort of your house, you are bound to be distracted – a call on your phone, a visit from a friend, you could even decide to do the dishes or laundry while the service is on et cetera. If you were at the venue however, there would be fewer distractions and you would not miss out on anything. Also, the fire from the fellow worshipping or praying beside you could ignite yours and this makes the environment Spirit-filled. This feeling is something you may not experience if you are connecting to the service online. Therefore, unless it is unavoidable, ensure that you attend fellowships physically.

KEY POINT:

Your physical presence in fellowships should not be traded for anything else.

HYMN: I Need Thee Every Hour

I need Thee every hour,

Most gracious Lord;

No tender voice like Thine

Can peace afford.

CHORUS

I need Thee, oh, I need Thee;

Ev’ry hour I need Thee;

Oh, bless me now, my Saviour,

I come to Thee.

I need Thee every hour,

Stay Thou nearby;

Temptations lose their power

When Thou art nigh.

I need Thee every hour,

In joy or pain;

Come quickly and abide,

Or life is vain.

I need Thee every hour,

Teach me Thy will;

And Thy rich promises

In me fulfil.

I need Thee every hour,

Most Holy one;

Oh, make me Thine indeed,

Thou blessed Son!

Francis Agbo's Daily Devotional December 18, 2022 Title: Reasons to be thankful

  Francis Agbo's Daily Devotional December 18, 2022 Title: Reasons to be thankful! Text: And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God. And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. Luke 17:15-16 KJV Jesus healed ten, but only one of them returned to give thanks. Does it mean that he had everything? He did not, but he had something to thank God for. You don’t have everything but you have things to be thankful for. You are alive. What of the ability to sleep? You take that for granted, right? What you take for granted others are struggling to have. What of the people God has placed in your life and who have been a blessing to you? Your job. A roof over your head. It may not be a mansion or palace, but you have a roof over your head. Clothes on your body. They may not be designer clothes, but they are clothes. You have reasons to be thankful if you look well enough. Today’s prayer: I will...
