Open Heaven For Teens 2 December 2022 – Allow Him
TOPIC: Allow Him [Open Heaven for Teens 2 December 2022]
MEMORISE: He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. Proverbs 28:13
READ: Luke 19:1-10
And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.
And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.
And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.
And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.
And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.
And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.
And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.
And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord: Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.
And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.
For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 John 1:1-10, Ezekiel 47-48
MESSAGE:
On the last day, a lot of persons will end up in hell, not because they never heard about Jesus, but because they never allowed Him to clean them up. Our Bible passage for today tells us how Zacchaeus, who had fraudulently enriched himself with other peoples money, met Jesus and got cleaned up. His lifestyle as a tax collector became his past. He started on a fresh note.
Another example of a man in the Bible who allowed God to clean him up is Paul who was formally Saul. He was a chief persecutor and prosecutor. His knowledge of law helped in his fight against the disciples of Christ. When he finally met Jesus on the way to Damascus, his life changed and he started afresh, to the extent that he became a vessel in the hand of God. My child, how far have you gone into sexual sin, cybercrime, stealing, et cetera? Those secret things that you are engaged in that seem unspeakable are open to God. He knows everything, He sees everyone. Why not allow Him clean you up today? The woman at the well had been involved with five different men. She met Jesus and there was a turnaround. You are not too far gone for Jesus to clean up.
ACTION POINT
If you are far gone into sin, ask God to clean you up today.
HYMN: Just As I Am
Just as I am, without one plea,
but that Thy blood was shed for me,
and that Thou bidst me come to Thee,
Oh Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am, and waiting not
to rid my soul of one dark blot,
to Thee, whose blood can cleanse each spot,
Oh Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am, though tossed about
with many a conflict, many a doubt,
fightings and fears within, without,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am poor, wretched, blind
Sight, riches, healing of the mind
Yea, all I need, in Thee to find
Oh Lamb of God I come,
Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,
wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
because Thy promise I believe,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am Thy love unknown
Has broken every barrier down;
Now to be Thine, yea Thine alone,
Oh Lamb of God I come, I come.
Just as I am, of that free love,
The breadth, length, depth and
height to prove,
Here for a season, then above,
Oh Lamb of God I come, I come.
